What is Family Violence? 

Safe Steps describes family violence as ‘harmful behaviour that controls, threatens, forces or dominates a family member through fear. It also includes emotional and financial abuse, as well as physical violence and sexual abuse.’ In law, family violence has a broad definition, and the courts will consider every scenario in its own context to determine if it constitutes family violence.
